Pattinathar temple is located 1.8km (by bike) from tiruvottriyur railway station. It is 1.5 km from tiruvottriyur metro station. The temple is located 850m from Theradi metro station. The temple is located on Ennore Express highway. It is approximately 9 km from chennai beach station. The temple is located on the shores of Bay of Bengal, facing sea (East direction-Moolavar entrance). It is believed that Pathinathar transformed into Linga form facing east direction on a peetham. The temple has mandapam opposite to main shrine depicting the life of Sri Pattinathar in form of images (Potraits). One can do meditation in the mandapam. The entrance of the temple is on the service road. Two wheeler and four wheeler parking is there. On full moon day, auspicious day and pradosham days the temple is crowded. One can buy prasadam or offer money for prasadam at the counter. The Sthalavricham (Pei karubbu) is located on NorthWest direction. Share autos are there. Pattinatthar worshiped Shiva at the Srikalahasti temple, which has inspired great poetic and musical works.
