The Karpaga Vinayagar Temple is a very old one. In the year 2002 when I had settled in chinmayanagar. The temple had total open space and did not even have a Gopuram. The circumambulation inside the temple used to be very peaceful with open sky's.

There used to be proper air circulation, with a skyward open Temple. There also used to be very limited God's and goddess, which included Durga sanctum visible from the road.Aiyappan,Vinayagar & Murugan (with his consorts.)towards the left of the goddess in a line. Apart from this there was the sanctum of Anjaneya & Navagraha.

The temple has gone through a transformation over the last 10 years.New sanctum of Lord Shiva(Lingam) & his consort,Lord Balaji were added.
The Temple has a Peepal tree(Arasa Maram).

The temple was consecrated with 2 Gopuram.A closed enclosure surrounding the deities and a dhyana mandapam

Currently the Gopurams are being painted for kumbhaabhishekam.

A place for must visit in Chinmayanagar.

Though the temple is named after Vinayagar, it has separate sannidhis for Lord Shiva and Parvathi, Ramar and Hanuman, Murugar, Perumal, Durga, Iyyappa.
Temple is maintained neatly and lot of poojas are performed deity specific.
