This memorial is situated in the middle of the Edward Elliot beach . This memorial has been renovated recently . You can see it from outside . No entry fee here and any one can come here. There are a parking area too on the beach road .
This memorial was built in the memory of Denmark based sailor Karl Schmidt who died by drowning in the sea while he was trying to save the life of an English Girl on 30th Dec, 1930. After that Governor of Madras , George Fedrick decided to built this memorial for his gallantry and bravery .
