Had been waiting to reach Chennai, to enjoy a meal at one of my favourite restaurants in the city. But I was totally disappointed with this particular branch of Thalappakatti.
The service was horrendous, made to wait for close to 20 mins, just for someone to come take the order. Once the food arrives mid meal had requested for the gravy top-up and when hardly any customers were around also they took their on sweet time to get in. The team seemed way to occupied with some joke.
The only saving grace was the taste of the food.

Just now I landed at Chennai central station to catch another train. Thought of going out to eat dinner. But there was Thalappakkati restaurant inside the station. I dropped the plan to go out and had one mutton Biriyani from here. Before ordering I made sure that the Biriyani is dum type. Because once I got Biriyani from the same group of hotels near Kochi airport wherein the meat and rice were cooked separately and mixed together. Here in this hotel the tase was authentic. The quantity was enough for someone who is on a travel and price was reasonable. The surprise for me was awaiting during payment. I was told to pay at the counter. I gave Rs 500/- for the bill of Rs 260/-. The cashier asked for charges. I went back to my table to search for changes in the bag. But I didn’t find the change which was there and I thought I had lost it somewhere. I went back to the counter and told the cashier that I don’t have any charges. Then he asked me, if I had lost any change. I said yes, and they were making sure that the money which they got is mine. It was a pure show of honesty and I appreciate it.

Outlet located inside the Chennai central railway station and limited seats available.

Place maintained neat and clean but service is very poor comapre to the other outlets. When we reached @8.30 pm most of the dishes are already finished.

We ordered biriyani which I feel quantity is very less but food taste is good like other outlets.

This Outlets really neet to improve lot in service and hospitality.

Since the outlets is located inside the station permission only traveller's can able to have food and there is no parking facility for outsiders.
