I mean, we Indians do not understand the very concept of an aquarium. In essence, an aquarium is a glass enclosure which should ideally match the natural living condition of the various fishes and other living organisms. Now, let's talk about Chennai Public Aquarium. Though the name suggest public, its a private entity which runs it. I don't think the government has oversight. One inspection is enough to close this place down. The minute we enter, we could smell the stink from the rotting water. They kept bettas in a tank which is 10 cms long. Torture. All the tanks are extremely overstocked with visibly poor water quality. The glass panels are full of algae and in some tanks, you cannot even see through. In one tank (picture attached) you could see open electrical wires running through. You can see the water quality there. Decades ago there was a real public aquarium right on marina beach, million times better than this place. Animal brutality and torture.

Entry tickets given by staff outside counter. I see some cheating happening at entry tickets. Govt should moniter these issues

Bad bad smell from the water or it is not a Chennai Public Park it is an Chennai youngster lover Park+ nothing to see even aquarium Museum is also closed for public visit and view 50 rupees is useless for this Park and its difficult for me to post photos because nothing there to take photos
