Park opened in February 1978 by the late former Chief minister of Tamil Nadu Dr.M.Karunanidhi. This park is dedicated to another late Chief Minister Arignar Anna who was a famous and revolutionary political figure in the history of Tamil Nadu.

It's a beautiful place, dedicated to one of the famous chief minister's of Tamil Nadu.
They could have planted few trees to add some more greenery to the place.
