Thumki Dara is a camping ground situated on a hill-top near Uttarey village of west Sikkim. It can be reached by a short trek of 2-2.5 km starting from Tenzing-Hillary park of Uttarey. The first 1.5-2 km of the trail is the same trail used for the famous Phokte Dara trek. There is no well-defined trail for the last 0.5 km. You need to find the trace of the trail through the dense forest of. Hence, you have to hire a local guide. Once there you shall find a plateau covered with wild bushes, and rhododendron plants. If you are lucky with the weather, you can have a view of the Kanchejungha.
