This place is an absolute delight to stay at. .. Be it for the clean, tidy, hygienically maintained cozy bedrooms with an attached beautiful bathroom, or for the wonderful view from the rooms, or for the delicious food served at the table, or for the warm and courteous hospitality by the owners.. Barsey Retreat has everything. I would also like to specially thank them for arranging an emergency medicine for me.. I am really touched by their behaviour.. I absolutely loved this place for everything and wish they continue to touch people's heart with their service. All the best!

My best homestay experience till date. Rooms are clean, amazing location & tasty food. Very co-operative host even they kept our lunch hot and fresh on 5pm after back from Barsey trek. Although due to unexpected rainy weather in whole Sikkim region, couldn't experienced great views from homestay but definitely will come back next time. They run the homestay with true passion. One request to visitors: please keep calm, clean and peaceful of the place, and feel the magic of nature.

Homestay is a wonderful option for travelers looking for a more authentic and personal travel experience. Rather than staying in a hotel or hostel, homestays allow travelers to stay with a local family and immerse themselves in the local culture.

After reading lot of reviews about this place, we two families chose to stay in this homestay during mid April 2023. And after reaching the place and staying for two nights, I can say this is one of my best home stay experience. This is a small village named Hattaban where around 200 people live. From here we went for trekking Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary which is around 50 mins by car. This homestay is run by Mr. Hissay Sherpa along with his two brothers and mother who are very amazing and courteous persons. We enjoyed great homemade, delicious food in kansar thala (Brass utensils). The level of hospitality that we received from them is totally outstanding. Simply chatting with them offers a level of personal interaction that simply can't be found in a hotel. The cleanliness of the property and the level of maintenance is remarkable. The front view is amazing. You can enjoy the sunrise view on a clear day. I'm highly recommending this place for the nature lovers. I can tell you, you will cherish your memory after staying here. Wish their family all the best and please maintain this level.
