The oldest and the grandest area of Udaipur. All communities, castes, religions and cultures amalgamate here for dwelling, business and livelihood. Nothing beats the cheap shops with good quality handicrafts, dresses, leather items, diaries, collectibles, food, garments and anything - also groceries and hardware items. Name a thing and Lal Ghat has it! Try living in the home hotels with the old carved Bagahri windows to get a real feel. The lake is clean and ghats are also well maintained. Lots of temples including Jagdish Temple in the area. Only two parking areas for four wheelers. Ideal for a walk through or a bike ride.
