Cenotaph of Sangram Singh(1690-1734) is the most impressive one in the Ahar royal crematorium
Sangram Singh was cremated along with his 21 wives, who committed sati at his pyre.
His chattri is the biggest & tallest Chattri in the complex.
This cenotaph has a 56 pillared porch with an octagonal central dome supported by eight small pillars.
Rana Sangram Singh II was the 61st ruler of Mewar (reigned 1710 - 34)
& son of Maharana Amar Singh II.
He was aged 20 when he began his 24 year rule & died at the age of 44.
One of his prime achievements was Sahelion-Ki-Bari.
His son, Jagat Singh (II), succeeded him.
