While most Hindus end the Dussehra celebrations by burning the Ravanas effigy the 10-headed demon king Ravan of Hindu mythology is worshipped in Jodhpur.
Ravanas wife Mandodari, is the daughter of king Mandawar who once ruled Mandore.
So some locals here, don't celebrate Dasara, but mourn the death of Ravana.
Ravana temple was built in 2008 in the Mahadev Amarnath & Navgrah temple complex where the main idols are Shiva & Devi Kharana, whom Ravana worshipped.
Ravana’s idol is 6 ft long & is seen offering prayers to Lord Shiva.
People here believe that Ravana Chanvri is the place of Ravana Mandodari marriage( in marwari, chanvri is the place where the couple take their wedding vows)
And according to folklore there is an ancient cave that leads to hell & Ravana came out from this cave to marry Mandodari.
Nobody could find the end of this mysterious cave.
