There are around 80 elephants and most of them have been rescued from circus.
There the Elephants first come and smell you and once they are comfortable ( & of course you too????)and trust you then you can play very closely with these lovely creatures (under mahavat’s observation)
We never thought that one day we'd meet Chanda at Elefanjoy elephant sanctuary.
We did many activities with her-
- feed
- Paint
- Bath/ shower
- walk
It was a wonderful experience with Chanda and other elephants. Thank you Elefanjoy !!

Elefanjoy was a wonderful experience. Our guide, Ankit was soft spoken and explained everything so well. The activities of painting, bathing with elephant, ride and feeding are quite therapeutic and fun. A must for children to experience.

Behold the mighty Raanee (Queen). Seeing the grandeur, the smarts, the intelligence and sensitivity of these beings will be a cherished memory.
We did not ride the elephant but rather walked with her. Walking brings a deep connection as you constantly hold to her, guiding her and pausing when she wants. Riding is not good for the elephant and is not as connecting. Happy that this is not encouraged by the sanctuary.
Visiting the sanctuary helped pay for her wellbeing, her feeding and her home.
Ankit was a gracious host picking us up at our hotel, stopped by Amber Palace and gave us recommendations for food and activities.
Great masala chai served at the property.
