Writing this review on behalf of my father, who had been going to Dr. Ranjive Mahajan for over a decade for seeking help with his depression and recently started seeing his wife who is also a Psychiatrist at the same clinic after being dissatisfied with Dr. Ranjive’s treatment but unfortunately for us, that did not make much difference either.

My dad felt very negligible positive difference in his mental wellbeing while seeing this doctor. Whenever us family members would try to interact with the doctor to see if theres anything that can be done to help the patient or ask doctors questions like consulting a psychologist or discuss medications, he would quickly rebut our suggestion/s. Eventually after almost giving up and thinking my dad would never feel better and to maybe just continue to see this doctor as its always a bad idea to quit the psychiatric medications cold turkey, I hopped online to find psychiatric doctors in Ludhiana on google and started going through their reviews. The negative reviews left for Dr. Mahajan echoed a lot of the sentiments that we felt all this while seeing him for over ten years. Theres definitely a lot of truth to all these negative comments. It never occured to us to go online and check reviews or find a different doctor using google.

I implore everyone who is feeling let down by Dr. Mahajan to do research and find a different doctor for your patient. We met a different doctor and the difference in my father’s wellbeing has been so dramatic that its shocking for us family members and we also curse ourselves to not have done this sooner.

The visits to Dr Mahajan felt very transactional in nature. We would wait quite a long time before seeing the Dr and the actual meeting would last less than 5 minutes. No real interaction with the patient to find out whats going on or their family members but just a surface level conversation for the sake of formality and quickly showing us the door. The other doctor that we saw found that Dr. Mahajan had been giving very high dosage medications when they were not required at all and the patient felt extremely sleepy and groggy all day.

Our experience with Dr. Mahajan has been very dismal to say the least. Dr. Mahajan is impolite, impatient and lacks empathy, which I feel are important qualities for any medical professional treating mental health issues. If you’re not feeling satisfied with the treatment, please find an alternative and take your money elsewhere. Your patient will thank you.

Take action against him. Only works for money. If spoken against him, he files police complaint. He doesn't have manners to speak to patient. Kindly don't go to him for treatment
