Must visit with family one of the finest attraction for tourist.

The way to this place is also amazing as the roads are smooth and flawless .

On the shores of the Bay of Bengal, bathed in the rays of the rising sun, the temple at Konarak is a monumental representation of the sun god Surya's chariot; its 24 wheels are decorated with symbolic designs and it is led by a team of six horses.

The reasoning behind the closure of the Konark temple is that by the end of the 19th century, the last pavilion of this temple had also weakened and reached the verge of collapse, and to save it from collapse, the then Governor John Woodburn in the year 1901 all of this temple. The doors were sealed with sand.

Due to COVID-19, The offline tickets are not available before 11am. You need to scan the QR code which is displayed on the display board on right hand side of the main entrance and it will lead you to the ticket booking page where you need to provide basic details and ID. After successful payment, a ticket with a QR code will be generated and that QR code will be scanned at the temple entry point to open the gates.

NOTE : WEARING OF MASK IS NECESSARY.

Only 2000 online tickets per day + unlimited offline tickets per day are allowed. Thus, my best suggestion is to reach early and take online ticket because after 11am the Sun Temple becomes very crowded.
