Ramachandi Temple is located near the estuary of the Kushabhadra River in the Puri District of Odisha. It is just 5 kms away from the Konark Sun Temple on the Marine Drive Road. The temple is dedicated to the presiding deity of Konark, Goddess Ramachandi. Some believe it to be the temple of Mayadevi, wife of the Sun God. The beautiful idol of the deity can be seen seating on a lotus flower inside the small temple built on the river mouth of the River Kushabhadra. On one side of the temple, the never ending Bay of Bengal can be seen widely stretched. The place is surrounded by extensive plantation of the casuarina trees.

Previously, the place was not well accessible by road before the construction of the Marine Drive Road. However, huge number of pilgrims flocked in the Ramachandi temple during the month of Ashwin. Devotees offered ‘bali’ or sacrifice of animals to the deity to please her and prayed for the fulfilment of their desires.

An ancient legend can be heard surrounding the temple and its presiding deity, Goddess Ramachandi. The story emphasizes on the celestial power of the deity and how she saved the temple from the wrath of Kalapahad, a rebel Hindu Brahmin who later converted into Islam. Apart from the religious significance, the place also attracts travellers who wish to spend some time in the midst of nature. The beach near the temple is an ideal place for the picnickers. Experiencing the beautiful sunset can be fascinating at this place.
