State library has an ample collection of books of various subjects. You can avail the services by paying a minimal registration fee of ₹200 (as on Feb. 2022)
There is a spacious reading room, three floors of books, a computer room and also has collection of books on NE and Nagaland which you may not find elsewhere

Most of the books available are quite old but regardless you will find a wide variety of books and information about the state ranging from History, politics, geography, art and culture, literature etc. I like the ambience of the building as well although it gets pretty cold inside during the winter season.

Books based on flora and fauna and the history of the Nagas in the North East Section could be added as well
