The Great 18th June Uprising Day observation was held at Kekrupat every year. The Great June Uprising Day 18 June 2001, is the people's movement and the supreme sacrifices made by the 18 martyrs for safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur. Thousands of people paid floral tributes to 18 martyrs every year who sacrifice their lives for the motherland Manipur, wherein 18 martyrs had laid down their lives during the agitation in June 2001 in protest against the extension of the ceasefire between the Govt of India and the NSCN(IM) without territorial limit.
