Not worth a visit. Steep climb down and up with a lot of slippery places. The temple not worth a visit on itself. Do visit the crator lake from other side, preferably from gomukh temple which is more worth both for the gomukh temple as well as comfortable climb down to the lake.Historical place thousands years ago this lonar sarovar make by falling ulkapat, words second salted water on this lake. The kamalja mata mandir is at up on lonar lake , all people on this area very respectfully prayed KAMALJA MATA ????

The 5th century Temple, dedicated to Padmavati, is located in the Lonar, Buldhana District, and Maharashtra State. It is said the Goddess appeared Swayambhu here. This temple is also known as the Kamalja Devi Temple. Although there are more temples along the banks of Lonar Lake, This Kamalja Devi Temple is dilapidated Condition. Outside of the temple a broken shiva lingam is presented. The goddess Kamalja is the village deity of Lonar. She’s actually an avatar of goddess Lakshmi. When lord vishnu fought and killed a demon named Lavanasur. Here Lavan means salt and Asur means demon. At that time, goddess Lakshmi also was present. It is said that Goddess Lakshmi liked the place so much that the decided to stay there as Kamalja. During the period of Navaratri (nine nights) festival the villagers organize a fair at the Kamalja Devi Temple and people pray for what they want. An age old tradition here is that if a couple is blessed with a boy, they would come to this temple and place bangles as a gift.
