Deliciously cooked fish that had a flaky, easy to eat meat off the bone. Definitely a place to visit as well for a Maharashtrian-Goan blended experience. You would need someone to order in Marathi if you visit.

Crab Masala , Stuffed Bombil (green Thecha) , Stuffed Pomfret (red Thecha), Dashmi (Rice Bhakri) , Solkadhi and Kharwas was on our plate. Since it was the 1st day of Shravan ; Crabs in semi gravy masala style is what they could offer. Size of the crab was somewhere small to medium range compared to the price with a bowl full of gravy. Stuffed Bombil (4 whole) was a killer it was absolutely delicious. Spicy Crisp and just right. Pomfret was Crisp and nice. Bhakri was soft and good size. Solkadi vati (without coconut milk) was delicious and was served as a welcome drink. The other Solkadhi with coconut milk was also equally well prepared. Kharwas i felt was not 100% authentic. A pure Kharwas gives you a slight sticky feeling when u take a bite. We are regulars in making Kharwas at home so we know how it tastes. The place is simple , with good hygiene, trained and courteous staff. And don't miss on the beautiful Marathi movie actor photos on the wall. Apparently it's built by some of the Marathi film fraternity peeps. Amazing isn't it. Now Considering Pune city and the kind of similar food the city has to offer with a much lesser cost and which is at par on taste i felt this one was lil overpriced is my view but yes for the service and the vibe it's an absolute 10/10. Our total bill was about 2k plus for 2 people.

A quick जेवण at Fish Curry Rice, Tilak Road. Nothing much needs to be said about FCR. Had read about their announcement of the Jevan, and wanted to go.. was in that part of the town with my mother today at lunch time and took up this opportunity.
The difference between a Jevan and a Thali is the variety. But all the critical items are there - a curry, a fried portion, poli and rice. Small solkadhi vaati and a couple of chutneys. Most important things done right.
This in itself is very hearty. Flavours on point, quantities just right - this is a win win concept. We ordered a कोळंबी जेवण and a सुरमई जेवण, which are the fried pieces. The curry today was a मोदक curry. I tasted this one for the first time. The curry was very tasty...The fish is a small sliver with a soft bone running in the middle. Am kinda neutral towards it. Lots of work for little bits, but a neutral taste.
The जेवण is available on weekdays between 11 a.m. and 3 a.m. only. Don't miss this one!
The hospitality is also something they are famous for! Mandar Vijay Joshi was totally helpful with his recommendations, ably supported by his staff. Sandesh Sudhir Bhat , loved this जेवण, like we love the one at home!
