Dr Ajit Jejurkar is one of the best Cardiac Surgeon in Pune. We met Dr for my uncle's bypass. He explained all possible options with pros and cons and claered all our doubts regarding bypass surgery. Post operation care and consultation by Dr helped patient to recover fastly.

POST SURGERY COMPLICATION RESULTED IN DEATH .
Pros of DrAjit - Highly patient , Listens to each and every query of yours with utmost attention and soft spoken .

However ,By-Pass Surgery Resulted in death of my Father .Read my case below :

I admitted my father at Jupiter hospital for angiography on recommendation of Dr Satyajeet Suryawanshi in month of April 2020. After admission and corona swab test , his condition deteriorated rapidly and he was put on ventilator in ICU for around next 10 days .I was advised there seems to be some liquid filled in lungs which caused this sudden breathing issue .How this liquid got into lungs was never confirmed .Corona result was negative twice .
They performed angiography during his stay in ICU and I was advised he has coronary aneurysm and 4 blockages of varying degree as well .Dr Satyajeet recommended Dr Ajit to perform By-pass surgery which according to Angiography result was needed .
Once my father got out of ventilator and ICU after stay of 10 days - Dr Ajit Jejurkar strongly asserted to go for By- pass surgery along with valve replacement before discharge and after giving him rest of around 5 days in the hospital itself , to which I agreed.

My father stayed in room ward in Jupiter hospital after coming out of ICU,for 5 days , waiting for surgery .He recovered during his stay and was able to talk and eat on his own . Slight assistance was required in his walking .
( Another Doctor in the City mentioned to delay surgery for few months but I did not rely on him as he was not primary doctor ( Like Dr Ajit and Dr.Satyajeet who had the entire case history)and I had invited him once to Jupiter during father’s ICU stay ,through a reference ).

Surgery started after 5 days rest at around 12pm and after the surgery was performed ,at around 9 pm , Dr Ajit came up to me and advised surgery was successful and patient condition is stable .
With in few hours of surgery after doctor left ,I was called to ICU that my father’s condition has suddenly gone critical(11pm).Next morning ,my father was declared dead (around 9 .20 am).

My father cause of death mentioned was septicemia and Acute kidney failure . I was then told by Dr Ajit and other Jupiter hospital staff that this is a complication of Coronary By- Pass surgery and occurs in 1-2% of corona bypass surgery patients and they could not have prevented this or known earlier .I , however , was never educated or informed for these high risk complications by Jupiter staff or Dr Ajit or Dr Satyajeet .

However after the demise of my father , eminent doctor in the city and my doctor friends from other cities (whom I could not take my father to due to corona pandemic travel restrictions at that time ) advised timing of such high risk surgery was not suitable as patient was already in ICU that too on ventilator for majority of ICU stay and got rest for only 5 days .

Then I heard similar cases from some of my friends in different states - who narrated similar case happened to their uncles or relatives - where in patient underwent By-pass surgery and doctor declared surgery successful but patient was declared dead next or in next 1-2 days due to to sepsis or similar other complications.

I am not sure whether it has become a medical practice in India where in doctors push for surgery at an in opportune time , all I know is in my case this Bypass surgery resulted in the death of my father .
Now ,in retrospective I think had I delayed this surgery for six months or would have strongly considered opinion of other doctor who visited once ,he still would have been alive , may be he would have survived for years even without needing surgery .

Any of you reading this - Please consult with as many eminent doctors as possible before going for High Risk cardiac surgery and if there is an option to delay and avoid - take that option.
