I recently had the pleasure of visiting Misal Pav Center - Shrimant Darbar aka Shahi Wada, a charming restaurant that offers a delightful blend of Peshwa-era ambiance and exclusive misal pav. Located in the heart of the city, this establishment takes you on a culinary journey back in time while tantalizing your taste buds with its signature dish.
The moment you step into Shrimant Darbar, you are transported to the grandeur of the Peshwa era. The restaurant's interior is adorned with traditional décor, featuring intricate artwork, wooden furniture, and elegant lighting. The attention to detail is commendable, as they have successfully recreated the ambiance of that historical period. The overall atmosphere is warm, inviting, and reminiscent of a bygone era.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the exclusive misal pav. Shrimant Darbar takes immense pride in serving this iconic Maharashtrian dish with a unique twist. The misal, a flavorful mix of sprouts, spices, and lentils, along with Jalebi, rabadi and poha is prepared with precision and care. The balance of flavors is excellent, with the right amount of spiciness and tanginess. The garnishing, including crunchy sev, chopped onions, and fresh coriander leaves, adds a delightful texture and visual appeal. The dish is served with soft and buttery pav, which complements the misal perfectly.
What sets Shrimant Darbar apart is their commitment to quality and authenticity. The ingredients used in their misal pav are fresh, and the preparation follows traditional recipes handed down through generations. Each bite is a burst of flavors that will leave you craving for more. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring that you leave the restaurant feeling satisfied and content.
The service at Shrimant Darbar is commendable. The staff members are attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They are more than willing to assist you in choosing from the menu or provide any additional information you may need. The waiting time for your order is reasonable, considering the quality and freshness of the food.
While Shrimant Darbar excels in providing a memorable dining experience, there are a few areas where they could improve. The pricing is slightly on the higher side compared to other misal pav joints in the area. However, considering the ambiance and exclusive flavors they offer, it is understandable. Additionally, the restaurant can get quite crowded during peak hours, so it's advisable to plan your visit accordingly.
In conclusion, Misal Pav Center - Shrimant Darbar is a must-visit for misal pav enthusiasts and those looking for a unique dining experience. The ambiance reminiscent of Peshwa times adds a touch of history, while the exclusive misal pav delights your taste buds with its rich flavors. Despite a few minor drawbacks, the overall experience is one that you will remember fondly. So, head over to Shrimant Darbar and savor a culinary journey to the glorious past of Maharashtra.
