Better than expected! This may be called a coin museum, but it has many other items in display. Most of the currency here are specimens. Good to spent some time with the young ones. There is an entry fee of 90 rupees for adults and 50 for kids. You can also buy few small items from here.

The museum is worth visiting and spending some time in. The display is very systematic, informative and beautiful. The history of Indian currency and coins is described with lots of pictures and objects. Besides there are some displays on other subjects like fossils, stone and metallic weapons from past, musical instruments and a photograph section.

this is a really interesting museum. I loved how it was structured even just the building. They have a lot of very different exhibit on display, with one rotating exhibit. They have a really detailed knowledge of the history of coins in India, how they came to the country and each reiteration of coins through all the dynasties that India had. It’s a great way to learn about the history of coins and trade. They also had a lot of other interesting exhibit, I love the playing cards exhibit, the corals and stones exhibit as well as some pieces of sculpture that they had to see. This was the first time I had ever seen anything from the Indus Valley civilization in real life! So I do recommend coming here to see much more than coins and you can definitely bring your family as well because there’s a lot to see and learn when you come here. They have a really big space and a museum is pretty well laid out.
