My partner and I visited Izumi for my birthday dinner since we’ve heard so much about the food. It was a weekday, but when we arrived it was already buzzing with people. A reservation is ideal if visiting. We tried the Scallops and Himachi Truffle Ponzu for starters. For mains we got Smoked salmon avocado sushi, Tempura Prawn with spicy mayo and the Tonkotsu Ramen. The food was perfectly favoured and absolutely fresh! The sushi was well made. The only thing I thought could have been better is the service. The servers were not very attentive and often looked like they were managing too many things at a time. We had to constantly keep asking for them, and some of the food took quite a while to arrive. Other than that, great overall experience and good Japanese food!

The previous evening they were fully booked and we made the mistake of going there without a reservation.

So I took the kids there again (with a reservation of course) and had a lovely lunch. The sashimi platter was fresh and yum. The spicy salmon sushi was yum too. Whatever we ordered, we wiped out. So you can say we were very satisfied with this lunch.

The staff was courteous and the place was clean and well lit. Would definitely want to go there again.

Best to book even at lunch. We arrived in time and orders were taken quickly. Had spicy miso soup, and a crunchy sushi roll and another sushi dish; the green beans, excellent; and salmon tarragon and a spiced tuna. All excellent! One of the dishes was forgotten but the service was made up by expediting the main dish order. One of the best Japanese meals I have ever had. Then I discovered the pages in the menu go on… they also do Raman. Much better than Wagamama, no disrespect to them.
