Anushakti which means Atomic Energy (Anu- Atom, Shakti- Energy) is residential colony of Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC). Couple of decade ago, this place (Trombay) was at one end of Mumbai. However, with time its is now important junction on Sion-Panvel Highway, connecting Mumbai to Navi Mumbai. Colony is residential to all the staff and scientific officers of BARC. Very clean and well maintained, full of greenery. Considered as heaven in Mumbai. Temperature inside colony is always 1.5-2 degree less than outside. Air is also pure due to large number of trees and vegetation. Close to 15000 residents stay here. Colony is so vast that it has 6 schools, one Junior college, one CBSE school, One PhD college, 5 dispensary, one Hospital, one cricket stadium, one health club with athletic track and swimming pool, multiple parks and what not.
