An excellent and exclusive one-stop shop for hard-to-find Malwani cuisine items, located in the heart of the Mahim-Matunga area, on the very busy, arterial Lady Jamshedji Road. Managed by the very affable and likeable Sunny, this unique shop is his and his wife's brainchild. They stock up on fresh and ethnic foodstuffs ordered directly from the Malwan and Konkan belts of Maharashtra, such as kokams, virgin coconut oils, honey, a variety of rare chutneys made to last long, and many other items found typically only in places like Vengurla and Sindhudurg. In addition, they also have on sale, various kitchen paraphernalia like manual grinders and cutters. So, folks if you are missing homemade Malwani masalas and other stuff, you need not go all the way to Malwan. Just hop across to Ajichi Athvan, and you are bound to get all that you seek!!

Ajichi Athvan in Matunga West is down to earth when it comes to the setup. However the fare for shopping is awesome and I look forward to more such enterprises being run in Mumbai. They also have Pata varvanta (stone slab for grinding) for sale.
