Temblai hill is one of the famous spots in Kolhapur. The Temblai temple is located on Temblai hill, which is dedicated to Goddess ‘Temblai’ or ‘Tramboli’. The Goddess ‘Temblai’ is the sister of Goddess Mahalakshmi. According to hindu mythology Goddess Temlabai helped Goddess Mahalakshmi to fight the demons. But after the victory Goddess Mahalakshmi failed to pay respects to Goddess Temlabai and ignored her and this angered her and so she settled on the hill. The face of Temblai idol is exactly in the opposite direction to the face of Mahalaxmi idol. The idol has four hands and the idol is made of black stone. Every year during the Navratri festival a one day celebration known as "Tramboli Yatra" takes place here.
There is another small temple situated on this hill, which is dedicated to Goddess Yamaidevi. Also a huge Idol of "Lord Ganpati" is situated at the centre of the hill; a small garden and beautiful walkway is developed around it. A number of local people come here in the morning or in the evening for walking.
Do visit to this temple, you will like it. In the early morning, you can see beautiful Sunrise from here.

On the east of Kolhapur city about three miles from the old city there is a small hill and on this hill is built the temple of Temblai or Tryambuli.
The temple is in the old Hemadpanti style and is without any ornate carvings. There is a mandap in front of the main temple.
On the same hill there is another temple that is of Margaidevi.
The Tryambuli hill is a picturesque spot apart from its religious importance. It is a windswept hill with very few trees. One gets a panoramic view of the sprawling city from the top.
