The Mangalnath Temple is a Hindu temple located in the Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh.

It is dedicated to Mahadeva, the guardian deity of the city.

Located on the banks of the Shipra River, it is one of the most active temples in the city, visited by hundreds of devotees daily.

Mangalnath is regarded as the birth place of Mars, according to the Matsya Purana.

In ancient times, it was famous for a clear view of the planet and hence suitable for astronomical studies.

Mahadev or Shiva is the deity which is worshipped in the temple of Mangalnath.

Har Har Mahadev. Advise for the solo travellers when you reach by train, just explore the market by walking towards Mahakaleshwar Mandir and also you will find tons of hotel nearby mandir and it is 10-15mins far from the station. The best thing is that you can hire an auto or battery rickshaw for whole day and explore different locations, don't forget to bargain. Although if you don't want to hire then you have to pay rs.100 for each destination to reach. Near Mahakaleshwar Mandir I suggest just walk and explore everything.

This is place of birth of Mangal bhagwan. There is no actual idol of mangal bhagwan but shivling is there. This place is considered a must visit place for mangalic people and many do the shanti of their mangalic kundali. There is also pruthvi mata mandir near it.
