This temple is situated in dedhiya region which is around 8km from Ujjain , on the confluence of 3 rivers which is Khipra, Gandaki, and Saraswati. This temple is dedicated to the nine planets. Amongst them Shani is the strongest planet. Saturday is the day for visiting the temple, on that day you will find more crowd.

The Navgraha Mandir Ujjain if dedication to the nine planets namely Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Budh, Guru, Shukra, Rahu, Ketu, and Shani. Shani is considered as the strongest planet. The god of justice has a massive influence on horoscope charts. According to Hindu mythology, God Shani is the supreme judge and educator. He is a well-wisher along with giving wealth and prosperity to follow good deeds. He also gives severe punishment for people who are evil and involve in wrong deeds. Therefore, people worship the Shani god more than anyone else and endeavor to be in his good books. Saturday is the day to visit this temple.
Navgraha Mandir has become fairly popular in recent years and devotees come to the temple on the days of the full moon and also on Saturdays, which is considered as the day of Shani God. Rounds or Parikrama are done of the Navagraha stones and offer some flowers and sweets. Off late, the religious importance of this place has grown a lot. Navgraha Mandir is located on Triveni on Indore road. Mythological scriptures believe that this place belongs to Saturn and only by offering oil here, Saturn gets rid of the pain. Ujjain, being the heart of Madhya Pradesh, is revered abroad as a religious city. Traffic from all the cities of the country is accessible to Ujjain and many other scenic and miraculous places also exist here.
This Navgraha Mandir is only 6 km from the main city. It is located far away and many modes of transport are available for the general public to reach this holy place. People can reach there by autorickshaw, rickshaw, or tonga. They are affordable modes of transport.
The best time to visit the temple is during the winter season as the weather during time remains pleasant. At the Navgraha Mandir, a fair is held on Shani Shastri Amavasya and thousands of people come and offer oil and receive the grace of Shani Dev. This place is also mentioned in Skanda Purana. People can visit here during the time of fair also to experience the cultural and traditional beauty of this place.

The temple is home to nine shrines, one for each of the nine planets. The shrines are located in a circular pattern around the central dome. The deities in the shrines are made of black stone.
