My experience in Hotel shikhar darshan was great. They have comfortable beddings. We were three in one room. Generally hotels provide average quality of third bedding. But here all three were same and very good and clean. The view of temple from room's full wall window is mind blowing. We saw the bhasma aarti from the room only. There is big lcd screen just infront of our room. The behaviour of hotel guys was so good. They were equally excited when we suddenly got the booking of Garbh graha darshan. They immediately provide us the printout of our booking and helped my father to wear dhoti ( mandatory dress code).
There was a restaurant adjacent with this property. Hotel provide breakfast from that restaurant. Although this restaurant is below average yet the best in surroundings.

Location wise good but the prices were extreme high. If you go directly and book you can save money. I booked and paid extra 2k. This is really not worth it. Staff mostly front desk managers are not customer friendly. We booked cab for r and paid and they sent a cab where the AC was not working properly. The driver informed us near ghat to turn off the AC as cab won't support. When we informed this they were like yes we have to turn off AC on those ghat. Then why we paid a lot of money?? They should hired a good one for long journey. We had to sit in that cab and in this extreme hear without AC for half an hr. And the main thing they forced us to pay the whole amount without feeling any guilty. I think if you are travelling then atleast try Ola or AC bus.

The Hotel is located at walking distance from the temple and offers direct view of Mahakaleshwar Temple from room windows!! Specially the corner rooms offer direct view (which is why it does justice to the name of the hotel 'shikhar darshan' ). It is also on the main shopping street. And you will find amazing street food options just outside the hotel and many restaurants too !!!
