This is the heart of and one of the main heritage of Jabalpur.
It is the busiest and crowded area of Jabalpur, reason being that the whole market is here only you can get clothing (like handloom, saree, suits, accessories, interior decor, wedding dresses, fabrics etc), grocery stores are also here, whole market of staples and spices, Imitation jewellery stores, Medicine allopathic and ayurvedic (some stores sell herbs and medicines).
Also there are many food options here like samosa, chats and fulki (gol gappe) are most famous here, falahar snacks, Badkul mishthan is one of oldest sweet shop and famous for breakfast and other food items.

'Bada Phuhara' is located in the center of Jabalpur and is the main market area. It is a very crowded area, best place for streat food and shopping. where you can find a wide variety of different types of fabrics, you can also buy flooring rugs, blankets and curtains. It is a famous complete sales market center where one can shop for snacks, clothes, groceries, ayurveda, medicines, interior decor, Jewellery, etc.

Apart from this, there are some amazing dishes in small streat-stalls which are very old shops whose taste is unforgettable like Kesar doodh and Malai rabdi, Khoya jalebi, Samosa, Aloo banda, Pav bhaji, Kachori, Poha, Mangode and Falahari snacks etc.

The popular Mawa ki Jalebi in Madhya Pradesh was invented by Hari Prashad Badkul in his Badkul Halwai shop which is situated here and this is the main market in the heart of the city.
