Bharat Bhavan is multi art centre set up to create an interactive proximity between the verbal, visual and performing arts. It provides space for contemporary expression, thought, quest and innovation. Set on the side of upper lake overlooking the vast beauty of the Bhopal city, this place is a center of art, culture and expression.

It's another brilliance of Charles Correa. He found here the possibilities of series of terraced gardens, which would be seen cascading down to the lake. You enter at the highest level and walk down a pedestrian spine, flanked by a pattern of courtyards, to reach the various parts of the complex. Each curve and space defines itself while amalgamating beautifully with the Indian history and culture. Each of the part of the building is distinct yet flows easily one another, linked by meandering paths. The total effect is one of the surprise and pleasure. There is always a moment when the eye can rest and the mind contemplates.

Bharat bhawan is a multi complex and museum built by famous architect Charles correa.  It houses multiple art galleries, a graphic printing workshop, a ceramics workshop, an open-air amphitheatre, a studio theatre, an auditorium, a museum of tribal & folk art and libraries of Indian poetry, classical music & folk music. The interior has coffered ceilings. The place has been well designed according to the contours. The photography inside the museum is prohibited. Best experience in that place has an open amphitheatre. Great view to the upper lake. The entry fee is Rs 10. It is well managed by government of Madhya Pradesh.
