During the reign of Moolamthirunaal Maharaja, for the Padmanabha Swamy temple, a nadhavan was set up here for puja. An ancient Nataraja temple was there. But no worship took place. In course of time, settlements were formed around Nandavan. Trials and crises interrupted daily life for the residents. When people saw God's presence ( prasannam ), Lord Nataraja was not worshipped and Goddess Muttharamma's fierce gaze was opposite to the temple. They also learned that the problem would be solved if a shrine of the Goddess was built inside the temple. Accordingly, they consecrated the Goddess idol in the temple. Nataraja is worshiped to improve in education. Daily Manjachoru (Pongal), Panchamirtha Naivedyam and Kali on Arudra Darshan are offered to God. Here is the worship of Jaladhar, who pours holy water into the Tara vessel and cools God. By doing this, the disease of devotees will go away and fear of death will go away.

Small temple called Shabapathi/Dakishnamurti temple.. near the Trivandrum's Chalai powerhouse lorry stand.. opens at 6 -10am and 5-7pm..
