Rs 400 consultation fee is very high . I went there for a treatment of my wife . From the diagnosis of x ray and blood tests he told it is Rhumetoid Arthritis and prescribed two months of medicine . He is only an ortho specialist and not the rheumatologist . If he is a good doctor at least he should suggest a rheumatologist Later on we switched over to Ayurvedic treatment .

I took my wife to dr cherian thomas last month for her knee joint pain. We showed the xray we had with us. The xray looked ok to him and asked for a MRI (if pain doesn't lessen in following weeks).

We took a MRI from metro scans (as he suggested). After seeing MRI, doctor said there are 'some' cyst around knee (MRI diagnosis was the same). He suggested an injection and surgery. My wife took a injection on knee where the pain is. (A white precipitate). That night she developed severe pain on knee. We took her to GG hospital emergency. The real issue was that her knee joint bone slided a bit and the friction between bones (due to damaged cartilage) caused pain. The doctor there said not to do surgery or injection before trying pshiotherapy. Also the cyst in knee can be found in 80% of people. (The injection, probably steriod will do bad in the long run). She did physiotherapy for a week and is now doing fine.

Always take a second opinion before doing anything with your knee.
