Its very old masjid. This actually not the original masjid built by Malik ibn Habib. the orinal one was washed away by the sea The marble panels recovered from the sea by local fishermen and stored here are tombstones ,believed to be carved in Gujarat circa 13-14 th century C.E.The inscriptions are in Thuluth script. This new one houses some historical relics.

This masjid was build by Malik ibnu Dinar(R) during AD 640. You can find the marble antiques of earlier masjid.
This is along with two pilgrimage centres like Valiya thangal and Bappuji Mastan.
Now, the mosque is reconstructed third time.
A well maintained masjid with quite atmosphere. There is a vast area at 'Hawl' where you take 'Wuzu'.
