Very peaceful and scenic place. Huge lake area. Very very greenary. One will see lots of fish farming being done here. One can sail around the lake in shikara or houseboat. Lovely place to see.

We visited Ashthamudi lake in Oct 2022 for houseboating.
The lake is the biggest lake in Kerala and has a few islands too. Prawns and Karimeen farming is quite prominent on the lake and also tourism with houseboats and shikara boats.
There are multiple bridge over the lake for both rail and roadways.
