A quite remarkable lane. You won't feel like you are in kerala. The street is very very clean. The buildings are so beautiful.. Many antique shops and dress shops are located.

This lane is a must visit spot in the town of Fort Kochi. The lane ends with the Mattancherry Paradesi Synagogue. There are a lot of shops selling antiques, spices and nose-pleasing perfumes. Things sold in the street are a little bit overpriced which is very obvious due to its age. Vehicles aren't allowed inside the lane except for a few authorised vehicles. The lane is a narrow space for vehicles to pass yet there are parking spaces all around from the limit of entrance. Vehicles can be parked anywhere around outside the limits of the Jew Lane from where vehicles are prohibited. Upon entering the lane, one gets to experience a totally different Kochi from the city vibes. Jew town has this beautiful touch of Dutch and Portugese culture be it in the art and painting in and around the walls as well as the apparatus that are sold in each shop. There is a small police museum on the lane where police culture in Kerala in the olden days are showcased in various forms. The best time to visit is during the evening as sunlight is at its minimum. Even if you visit during the afternoon, you will not feel tired after walking for a long distance because each and every thing that is displayed on either side of the Jew Street attracts one's eyes and makes him get along with the sights. There are many cafés and small tea shops in the street. A large amount of tourists visit this place throughout the year. No one leaves Fort Kochi without visiting the Jew Street as it shows a totally different face of Kochi. Maintained by CSML of Kochi, The Jew Street is very beautiful in terms of shops, antiques, places for photography, art, culture, tradition and aesthetics.

Very small place with typical tourist market. However found this amazing store in that street which is managed by an Christian Missionary. Fully handmade products. Belgium Lacing, french knots, micro stitching, etc.. Mr. Thomas, a very humble man will guide us about the thread works being done in their society. We bought a lovely frock and few pieces to get framed. We must encourage and preserve this incredible art before it goes extinct.
