Chentangulangara Srikrishna Temple is a very famous temple that was in the heyday of the Edappally royal dynasty. Lord Vishnu who is Chaturbahu is the main deity here. With the decline of the Ilangallur swarupam (Edapalli dynasty), the temple was taken over by the Kshethra samrakshana samithi in 1981. Later, restoration work was carried out from 1991 and the temple regained its lost vitality. Reconsecration was done in 1998

Visited this place today. Felt nice. Nicely maintained ambience. But felt too sad seeing the unmindful renovation. Kerala temples are built based on ancient science merged with nature putting tiles over makes the place look clean but it disconnects the earth , devotees have to walk barefoot to get the full rejuvenation, also wish they hadn't put the tiles atleast inside the sreekovil , and painted the woods and the pillars. Renovation is needed but it should have been done without disturbing the natural feel of the structure.this now it looks likemore of a modern house than an ancient temple . And also wish the temple pond be kept clean so that devotees could wash their feet before entering the temple . Over-all richly maintained but unmindful renovation without being sensitive about the science of a temple should be maintained. Lovely place
