Read about this canteen on a food blog and I really liked the review and thought I would give it a try. I tried fish biriyani, really liked the biriyani. Please don't expect the place to be a posh restaurant, but it's clean and not too crowded. Price is not too much as well.

I've gone to Kayees-Fort cochin, Paragon - Kozhikode and few other hotels in Ernakukam which are known for Biriyani, and it was because of the same we came here.
What we encountered was the stark opposite of what we had experienced earlier.

Hotel
There's a huge parking lot, which is actually meant for lorries of KRS, but bikes and cars can be parked inside it on left side.

You'll be confused whether the canteen operates there or not, since you won't be able to see it. There's a two feet wide and 50m long path at the left side of the building, walk through it and you'll reach the canteen. Once you look through the door you might want ask whether it's open to public because of the way it looks, they'll happily greet you inside. The ambiance might kill your appetite, but remember, this is a canteen for a parcel office not one at IT park, so it's the food that's the primary concern. Seating capacity is about 25.

Also there has been cases in which even prime hotels were closed because of lack of hygiene at kitchen, here the kitchen is inside the canteen area and you can easily see what's going on there and I felt confident looking at it.

The waiters will arrive within few seconds, take the order and get the food within few minutes.
We had Fish biriyani and chicken biriyani, fish biriyani costs 180₹, which might seem over priced when you consider that the chicken biriyani is priced at 130₹. The fish used is ney meen and the piece is very big. In chicken biriyani also they add two very large pieces. Extra plate of rice costs 50₹.
The pieces and rice is filled with tasty gravy. The chammanthi is also very tasty.
I wouldn't recommend the Beef biriyani.

Seems that my trips to find the best biriyani in Ernakulam has ended.
