Visited the Rail Museum on our Mysore visit. Here goes the review:
Honestly I was very skeptical to visit and expected it to be like any typical Indian museum . However I was taken back.
Exhibits: the exhibits were superb and relevant especially if you wish to learn and experience Indian railway evolution. The museum had a child play area as well.
Staff: the staff were very courteous and supportive.
Cleanliness: the museum was well maintained and had a good washroom.
The ticket cost ₹50 for an adult and ₹20 for children which includes a complimentary toy train ride.
The best aspect was a rail wagon canteen.

A good place to spend time with friends or family in Mysore.
It's a must visit place for people enthusiastic about machines and railways.
This museum includes antique engines dating back to British era,they have preserved steam engine models and recent ones from the diesel counterparts.
This place is close to railway station and McDonald's . So tourists can plan out their day.

One of the best place in mysore with good collections of vintage locomotives
And railway equipments.A vast chronicles of Indian railways history.
