Very nice lake to do birding. The habitat near by is scrub forest and marsh grassland which attracts swamphens, herons, storks, terns and swallows.

Giribetta Lake is about 17km from Mysuru, this little beauty is surrounded by beautiful nature. The ride to this place is good with tress all around. Fishing is also done here. One can picnic with family and friends. Ideal place from city busy life. Very calm, peaceful and scenery place with green grass. One can sit and gaze at the beautiful clouds and water all day long thus making this place a must visit

A popular spot for bird watching. Needs a drive of about 15 kms from Mysuru bus stand. The ideal time for birding can be between 7 am to 10 am and evening between 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. One can witness lot of birds like warblers, barbets, cranes, egret, ducks and many more. Lake is quite big, is surrounded by greenery around. Can also act as a picnic spot.
