Temple is at beautiful location. Frequent local bus services to reach temple. Bus will drop you near the temple only. Buses available from Mysuru city bus depot. Car parking is also available there. Important thing to note is that you cannot offer any coconut, flowers, garlands or sweets to Goddess. Priest will dump in a big containers. So as per my experience its better not to buy anything rest is up to you. There are adjacent temples of God Vishnu ji also which you can visit.

On 3rd June, We have decided to start our day by taking blessings from Goddess Sri Chamundeshwari Temple. She is a fearsome form of Chandi and it is believed that Goddess Durga slayed the Asura king Mahishasura on the top of this hill. It is also one of the 18 shaktipeethas where hair of the Satu fell. After more than hour of queue, mayhem, chaos n mismanagement we have succeeded to get a glimpse of the Goddess.
Now why I have said so, there is a reason behind this.
1. There are officially 2 types of queues based on their 100₹ and 30₹ tickets. We have taken 100₹ one but still waited approx an hour to just enter the main door of the temple. Why? Because there is another queue unofficially from where relatives/yajmans of Purohits/trust officials or may be persons of highly importance can enter directly and us minions can wait hours apparently.
2. Both the 100₹ and 30₹ queues got MERGED in front of main sanctum Santorum. That means getting pushed n pulled and may be trampled by others. It is miracle that we were unharmed after that.
3. The waiting area has only tin shed and not even a fan is there. It was awfully humid n hot at 8 am on that day.
4. My request don't bring elderly persons n small kids there. Not only because of chaos but there is no seating place for them either.
I think it is better to take blessings from outside and roam around the shops nearby.
