This is the memorial to remember the warriors of first world war. Situated in a triangular shaped Briagade road junction, the memorial bears a mark of respect in memory of the soldiers of the 1st Madras Pioneers who sacrificed their lives in first world war fought between 1914 and 1918. Slightly away from the busy and noisy Brigade road street, this is a good place to attain some sort of relaxation and peace.

This memorial stands in tribute to the 350 officers and soldiers of the 1st Madras Pioneers who died fighting on behalf of the British Empire in World War I. The memorial is a four sided block and each side is dedicated to a different theatre of war in which the Pioneers fought.

The memorial can be found on Brigade Road, at the junction of Residency Road and Magrath Road.

Before the great war memorial we can found some benches under thick shady trees.. people who are waiting for their buses can sit there and wait..!! after shopping too in MG road..!!
