I recently booked a Suite with Breakfast at Hotel Sonnet, hoping for a pleasant stay during my bike trip. However, my experience was a mixed bag of disappointments and satisfactory aspects.Firstly, I had requested an early check-in via email, but unfortunately, I did not receive any response from the hotel. This lack of communication was quite frustrating and left me uncertain about my check-in time. Upon arrival, I was made to wait for about 15-20 minutes to complete the check-in process, which further added to my initial inconvenience.As a bike traveler, one of my main concerns was the lack of secure bike parking facilities at the hotel. This was surprising, as I had expected a hotel catering to various guests' needs to provide a safe storage space for bicycles. It would have been reassuring to have a dedicated area for bikes, but unfortunately, this was not the case.Moving on to the room itself, the size was adequate, but I was disappointed by the absence of basic amenities such as toiletries, dental kits, and slippers. These are standard provisions that should be included in a hotel of this caliber. Furthermore, the air conditioning in the bedroom was very old and inefficient. Despite setting it to the lowest temperature (16 degrees Celsius), it struggled to provide adequate cooling. Sleeping in the hot summer nights became quite uncomfortable due to the faulty AC.Another incident that added to my frustration was when I attempted to make tea using the electric kettle provided. It was visibly dirty and required immediate replacement. Unfortunately, the hotel staff took over 1.5 hours to address my request, even after I had to follow up with them four times. This level of service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their efficiency.On a positive note, the breakfast options offered were plentiful and varied, which was a redeeming aspect of my stay. However, the quality and taste of the food were average at best. Considering the prices charged for the meals, I expected a higher level of culinary expertise and overall value for money.In conclusion, my experience at Hotel left me with mixed feelings. While the property itself was passable, the lack of response to my early check-in request, the absence of secure bike parking, the lengthy check-in process, the inadequate room amenities, the faulty AC, and the slow response to replacing a dirty electric kettle were all significant letdowns. The breakfast selection was good, but the food quality did not match the higher prices charged. Given these factors, I would hesitate to recommend this hotel to fellow travelers, especially those with specific needs or expectations.
