PATHETIC..!

We were a group of two families that stayed for a night, and suffered miserably. Planned to spend our last leg of the Kashmir journey in this Golden Flower house boat, but things didn't turn favourable.

Pros
1. Great view of the mountains
2. Serenity and the calmness of the Nigeen lake
3. Clean boat

Cons
1. Zero courteous staff. Just one helper, whose behavior will make you feel sorry for the stay. A misfit to be in the hospitality sector.
2. Rain water dripping from the roof (room# 102), late in the night.
3. No running water in the washroom some times, and no hot water most times.
4. No room heater.
5. Very limited food options with in the boat, and that too with heavy inflated prices.
4. Nuisance due to sellers/hawkers. They barge into the boat trying to sell you cheap stuff. (However this is a common problem for all the house boats).

Such was our disappoint that looking at the previous positive ratings, we wondered if we indeed boarded the correct boat :)

Had a great stay at the houseboat on our trip to Srinagar. The rooms are clean and the service is great.Hamid uncle who picked us up from the airport and was our tour guide and driver was an asset and has become a great friend now.

The houseboat offered a perfect blend of comfort and serenity, providing a cozy and well-appointed interior with all the necessary amenities. The spacious bedrooms, complete with comfortable beds and stunning views of the surrounding scenery, ensured a restful stay.

The onboard staff was incredibly hospitable, ensuring that every need was met and providing excellent service throughout the journey. From delicious traditional meals prepared with local ingredients to warm and friendly interactions, their hospitality added an extra touch of warmth to the entire experience.

Overall, my houseboat travel experience was unforgettable. It allowed me to unwind, connect with nature, and appreciate the slower pace of life. If you're seeking a unique and peaceful getaway, I highly recommend embarking on a houseboat journey. It's an experience that will leave you with cherished memories and a renewed sense of tranquility.

We had taken a family room ( Me, My wife, Daughter & son )and stayed for one Night. The house boat is excellent, location and viewpoint is very calm and pleasant. Bed warmer is provided in case you feel cold. Very well maintained and service is very good. Mr. Hamid Dunoo, who is the guide for our entire Kashmir Trip, owns this House boat. He is a nice person, has got rich experience in and about Kashmir. Food is awesome. he has organised the Shikara ride ( duration depends upon our wish & price, but worth only if you stay in shikara ride for atleast two / three hours) and we spent some time in Floating Meena bazaar. Very wonderful experience, you need to do lot of bargaining. Dinner was awesome ( We are pure vegetarian) and enjoyed the House Boat stay through out. Awesome experience. Thanks to Mr. Hamid Dunoo and his team, in taking care of us. Best wishes.
