Two of us went dining to the restaurant and orderer a kolkata style chicken biryani half (1 aaloo, 1 egg, 1 chicken) and a fish thali ( potato fry, fish curry, rice, dal, chutney and papad).
The order took more than 10 minutes to be served. Once served, there was no one to ask if we would need anything or if we wanted rice or dal (those were unlimited in the thali). The biryani rice was fine, aaloo was tasty enough but the chicken piece is not the kind you serve at a restaurant. You DO NOT serve a chicken breast along with part of the rib in. Similarly, for the fish, it did not feel fresh. For the ones who know, it's the taste you get if the fish has been fried already quite sometime ago and then it has grown cold, waiting to be put into a Kalia or a torkari. It felt bad.
Bong flavours has grown to be a good brand, but the attention to quality is missing. There is a general hype for the place due to Bengalis missing Bengali food and finding comfort in whatever is Bengali, but being a Bengali myself, it pains to see a misshapen chicken piece staring out from a ₹250 half plate biryani.
They do not mention if the price mentioned in the menu includes GST or not so, our bill, instead of being ₹449, suddenly became ₹472. Not that we could not afford the 5% tax, it's about the principle and here they are lacking!
I wish that the owner realizes that humility is a necessity in the service industry and it is the patrons who are ultimately the kings.
Anyway, plans to bring other non Bengali foodies to introduce to Bengali cuisine will have to be reconsidered to other places. Good luck to others, hope you have a better experience.

Good place to have Bengali Cuisine in Vadodara. You can have all regular Bengali food items here. The best part is that they have introduced the thali system for veg meal, egg meal, fish meal and chicken meal. Kolkata style Biriyani and Mutton kosha are delicious.

Well, staying away from family and my loving City Kolkata, I always used to crave Bengali food. And finally found the place called Bong Flavours. Cute, clean and calm place for all Bengali food lovers, where you'll get veg and nonveg items separately.
We ordered Chicken Kobiraji, Dimer Devil,Luchi and Chicken Kosha and ended up with Mishti doi. All the items are very delicious and yummy,once you take the bite you'll feel yourself in the streets of Bengal's.
I must recommend this place to all the Barodians to try. And the Lady boss of the place is cherry on top...the humble and sweet lady who made my Mother's Day so special!!❤️
