At the outset, I (Raju Grover) would like to express my gratitude towards Rangsagar Performing Arts, for giving me the opportunity to represent India at the 24th International Festival of Art and Culture at Büyükçekmece, Istanbul, Türkiye. This festival has been bringing together world’s culture and art for last 23 years. It is on the Türkiye’s Category A festivals and a member of UNESCO’s CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts). This Festival has been selected as the World’s Best Festival 8 times by the evaluation of international institutions. This year approximately, 1580 art ambassadors from 100 countries, including India, participated in the festival between 26th July – 06th August 2023.
After participating as an artist, in this festival, I got to know about this beautiful country, and with the friendship bridge thus established, I enjoyed the vibrant cultural exchange between various countries of the world. Moreover, as an art ambassador, I got an opportunity to promote Indian cultural heritage by showcasing various dance forms like Garba, Dandia-Ras etc.
It was a wonderful experience for all the participants from India, in terms of the fields of activity, variety of dance forms, number of participating countries, the audience they affect, the artisans participating, the quality of accommodations, local guides, level of contestants, jury members, perfect scheduling, planning and execution. Apart from the contests that were a part of the activities, all the various exhibits, musical performances, ballet performances and folk dances left the audience spellbound.
Transportation, accommodation, food & beverages, craft sales, souvenirs etc. were awesome. The development of the cultural activities of these different social groups, the establishment of friendship and tolerance only becomes possible through the bringing together of these very different components. The theme of the festival- “Everything for peace, for love, for friendship” was aptly depicted.

I reached Baroda at 11.00am . I had a wonderful experience and loved the time spent together. I am carrying with me fond memories of the tour which I will cherish in years to come. I would like to give one suggestion that the journey time can be reduced if we go by direct flights. Either Mumbai-Paris-Mumbai or Ahmedabad-Paris-Ahmedabad. This time at Jeddah airport the lay over was 11 hours. It was very tiring. It will be better if we travel by 2AC in trains. There is lot of space to keep our luggage in 2AC as compared to 3AC. Overall I have enjoyed very much and would like to congratulate Naresh ji, Yogi ji for their untiring efforts in successful completion of this wonderful tour. The dance group trained by Dhara ji were simply awesome. The musicians-Samyak ji, Pratik ji, Parthiv ji and Jai bhai were amazing. The chorus group-Pratik ji, Pooja ji, Anubhooti ji, Divya ji Prakarsh and myself performed well to support the musicians. Thank you all very much.????
