???????? World Schizophrenia Day: Spreading Awareness and Sharing Personal Journey ????????

On this World Schizophrenia Day, I want to shed light on this often misunderstood condition and share my personal journey. Schizophrenia affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves, and it's crucial to recognize the signs, seek proper diagnosis, and offer support.

Last year, my family's life took an unexpected turn when I discovered that my mother was experiencing symptoms of schizophrenia. Initially, I mistook her conversations as phone calls, but soon realized she was talking to herself, believing someone else was present. Concerned, I took action and sought medical help.

With the guidance of renowned psychiatrist Dr. Hansal Bhachech - India, our treatment journey began. We started with mild medication and gradually adjusted the dosage to minimize side effects. Early intervention and professional support were vital in managing my mother's condition.

Schizophrenia is a medical condition and not caused by superstitions or black magic. Medication is crucial, but the family environment plays a significant role in supporting the individual. Spending quality time with my mother and watching TV shows together made a significant difference in her well-being.

I was hesitant to go to therapy for years as I am generally skeptical. However I finally pushed myself to start this past year with Dr. Archana.
