Went to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Meghu ... Had heard a lot about the place ... The drinks were very nice and done just right kudos to the mixologist ... The restaurant was kind enough to bake a cake for us which was a really nice gesture ... We ordered the crab salad, corn tempura and lobster sushi roll ... Unfortunately they were out of crab and were unable to serve the salad ... The corn and sushi was ok ... The lobster was not fresh and after deep frying there was nothing much to taste of the lobster... The corn tempura was also very average looked like some froze corn nuggets fried with a Mayo sauce... We were not overly impressed with the starters and decided to skip the dinner...

Disappointing. I booked for Saturday lunch via google and the restaurant couldn’t find my reservation - no biggie as it was empty anyway.

Note the lunch set menu is not available on weekends - this wasn’t mentioned by the server until we tried to order. The alleged large menu of sake wasn’t available - there were three options of 720ml bottles (lowest value at £150 plus tax). Our four dishes comprising of appetisers and sushi rolls ended up being just over £100, so not great value.

Food was ok. Whilst I don’t doubt the quality of the fish which is imported from Tokyo, their flavour was overwhelmed by excessive garnish - do not expect subtlety.

An undeserving Asia top 50 restaurant.
