I have been visiting Karnataka Food Centre since the 80s when it was little more than a shack in the Karnataka Sangh building. After night shifts at the airport we would normally drop in to have breakfast here. The food used to be excellent back then.
Now commercialization has caught up with them. They have moved to a bigger location in the building, have a bigger operation, more tables and more staff. The menu has become bigger too. If only the food standards had kept up with their growth, they would have been unstoppable.
While the food quality is still reasonably good, it is no longer what it used to be. The crowds are still there and it is still difficult to get a table at peak hours, but the feel just isn't what it used to be.
Admittedly, you can't go wrong if you dine here, but if you ask whether it is among the finest South Indian food outlets in town, my answer would be - Not any more.
My rating for them would be 3.5.

Nice food festival..various of food items related to Karnataka culture are presented here. One can get tokens near main entry and then use them against various food outlets in the campus..people serving food are very humble and helping in nature will give you extra toppings upon asking. Price is moderately reasonable not much high nor less.
Allover nice experience

This place have been a delight for many from a long time..
Very economical.. Food is also good
Night decor do justice to it's beauty
Filter coffee is a must try
Service is also good
Downside
Always crowded or you need to wait specially lunch and dinners
Inside sitting arrangement needs major improvements.. very claustrophobic
Feels more crowded than it is
Wish they could change the size of bowl in which we get sambhar as it is very small
Otherwise nice place for South Indian foodie
