It has improved a lot over the past years, some better parking arrangements are needed, otherwise, very clean and organized railway station

The railway station came up in 1889. Shri Rabindranath Tagore alighted here for change of train and spent 6 hours in waiting room. During waiting period wrote famous Poem "DECEPTION"
